Lindberg is mostly known for his work during the golden age of the Swedish art industry ranging from the 1940's to the 1980's. He was one of the most prominent Swedish designers, especially during the 1950's and the 1960's. Today, his work is highly coveted, and the price of even simple pieces of his design generate high prices.
These playing cards were designed by Swedish artist Stig Lindberg for Öberg & Son in 1958 with the artist's Comedia illustrations. It is loosely based on the French pattern.
The set was released in Sweden, UK, USA and Germany, this is an original German issue.
